About The Mantle of Counsel
The Mantle of Counsel is a character-driven, urban-fantasy world. Set in a time where the powers of old still cling in their waning moments, the story takes place in our modern world from the perspective of a normal person.
A world still healing from a series of secret wars and narrowly avoided cataclsyms.
There are no chosen ones.
No heroes of prophesy.
No designated path.
Just ordinary people overcoming extraodrinary circumstances.
If you are interested in a slower-paced story with loss, growth, hardship, triumph, and a through-line of fantasy and cosmic horror, then this series is for you.
The stories I wanted to tell in these books, and the world they take part in, are grounded in personal experiences. Things that life has shown many of us, shaped into something shared from within.
It is my deepest hope that you will enjoy this journey in this world, and all the characters in it.
